What I Bring
As former Chief Strategy Officer of Havas Chicago and Founding Partner of Translation LLC, I spent fifteen years solving complex brand challenges—launching new products, growing audiences, and creating market differentiation strategies for Johnson & Johnson, Pepsi, and Verizon. These companies operate under FDA oversight, FTC scrutiny, and rigorous data governance requirements, which meant every strategic decision required regulatory awareness and risk management.
That experience developed capabilities most law students won't have for years:
C-Suite Communication
Your clients are executives making high-stakes decisions under pressure. I've been that executive. I translate legal analysis into business strategy because I've lived on both sides of the attorney-client relationship—implementing regulatory guidance during product launches, balancing compliance requirements against market objectives, and coordinating with legal teams during federal investigations.
"Fifteen years of Fortune 500 brand strategy experience translates into immediate value from day one."
Background & Credentials
Before law school, I spent 15 years building and leading marketing strategy firms in New York, serving Fortune 500 clients including Verizon, Johnson & Johnson, PepsiCo, Estée Lauder, and McDonald's. As Founding Partner of Translation LLC, I helped grow the firm to 75 staff with an 80% pitch win-rate.
At law school, I've maintained a top 25% class rank and earned the CALI Book Award in Contracts—recognizing the highest grade in the course. This combination of business acumen and academic excellence positions me to deliver sophisticated legal work that accounts for real-world business implications.
Why Photography
Photography is how I process the world visually—looking for patterns, contrasts, and the relationship between structure and humanity. It's a practice in observation, attention to detail, and finding clarity in complexity. These same skills inform my legal work: seeing what others miss, understanding how systems interact, and communicating complex ideas through precise framing.
The images throughout this site are my work, capturing the architectural and human elements that reflect the themes of my legal research: order and chaos, transparency and opacity, individual dignity within systematic structures.
What Drives This Work
I understand that legal work exists to serve business objectives. My experience on the client side means I approach legal challenges with an awareness of time pressures, competitive dynamics, and stakeholder expectations that typically takes years to develop.
I'm seeking a summer associate position where I can bring this perspective to bear—contributing meaningful work from day one while developing the doctrinal expertise to serve clients at the highest level.
This is the combination of experience and academic achievement I bring to your firm.
